What an awesome day today. Taught three classes and all of them inspiring. I had a new student who had never danced before. After class she was greateful and wants to continue dancing. In between the class there were moments that I was moved by just the effort my studens put in showing up and doing the work. Yes my eyes did get wet and I had to take a moment. Effort is worth an applause and perhaps a teary eye. Drama aside I get that just plain making an effort of doing something brings joy to yourself and others.

What I am committed to ?

Really I have been pondering what am I committed to in my art. Today I got it. It is something that I get really excited and moved by. I had created a dance piece few years ago and that piece moved me tremendously. The reason being that every moment I chose to put up on stage just took my breath away. Every moment was special and I was just excited to watch it unfold every time in a new way. So there it is I found my commitemment. I am committing to creating moments that take my breath away. In turn they will also take your breath away. That is how it works from my experience.
